The use of filter cloths is necessary in many branches of industry, agriculture, as well as in everyday life. The main purpose of filter cloths is to retain solid particles on their surface, preventing them from getting into solutions, liquids or other media. Features of filter fabrics are high strength, chemical and bacterial resistance.

There are several types of filter fabrics:

1. Cotton based – this includes belting, fermomitcal. They have a wide range of applications from industry to medicine.
2. Linen – serpianka. Due to its natural basis and wide cells, it is used in the dairy industry.
3. Woollen – felt.
4. Made from synthetic fibres. This includes a wide range of fibres: polymeric (viscose, polyester (polyester), polypropylene and polyamide (lavsan, nylon, etc.) and inorganic (glass fibre).
5. Nonwovens – needle-punched cloth, Spunbond. Often used in the manufacture of industrial filters for air purification.

In electroplating

It is used for cleaning the prepared electrolyte solution from suspended solids and mechanical impurities. The use of filter cloth provides improvement of galvanic coating quality in electrolytic zinc plating, copper plating, nickel plating and others.

 In industry

Filter cloth is used to clean the working environment, including gases, to extend the service life of the equipment, to protect it from accumulations of debris and dirt, from the formation of deposits, to collect light suspended particles coming through the exhaust equipment, it helps to increase the performance of devices and reduce hydraulic pressure.

Filter cloth is used in metalworking, woodworking, agriculture, construction and repair work, in the operation of various types of machinery, in chemical and food production, oil and gas production.
