Potassium rhodanide is industrially produced by the reaction of ammonium permanganate with potassium hydroxide.

Potassium rhodanide is a highly toxic fire and explosion hazardous substance. When working with potassium rhodanide, personal protective equipment should be worn: respirator, goggles, suit and gloves.

Potassium rhodanide is packed by the manufacturer in paper or polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner, the standard packing weight of which is 25 kg. Potassium rhodanide should be stored in its original packaging in closed warehouses equipped with forced ventilation systems, protected from moisture and light.

It is recommended to transport potassium rhodanide by covered railway or road transport in compliance with the rules and regulations for the carriage of goods applicable to these types of transport.
