Description & Characteristics:

Electrocorundum is artificially produced synthetic corundum, an ultra-resistant and hard material, a derivative of alumina(aluminium oxide). Its strength is second only to diamond.
Depending on the percentage of aluminium oxide, additives and production technology, electrocorundum is divided into several types: monocorundum (has a maximum aluminium oxide content of 98%), there is also white electrocorundum with alumina content of the highest grade, chromium (with chromium inclusions), titanium (includes titanium), zirconium (with zirconium), chromotitanium and normal (contains 93-94% alumina).
Depending on the composition, electrocorundum acquires certain properties – viscosity, density, hardness, heat resistance, abrasiveness, etc., which determines the areas of application for each type.

Appearance:

Electrocorundum has the appearance of a dense crystalline material or in the form of grains. The colour of electrocorundum is determined by its constituent components and can range from light to blue-grey and brown. Electrocorundum is produced by smelting aluminium ore in furnaces, followed by reduction and precipitation.

Packaging, transport and storage:

Electrocorundum is packed at the manufacturing plant in paper or polypropylene bags with liner weighing 25 kg each. Electrocorundum is transported by railway transport in covered wagons or by trucks in covered vehicles. Electrocorundum is stored at a temperature not exceeding 30C in the manufacturer’s packaging in covered warehouses, protected from humidity and direct sunlight.
